The number of volunteers signing up to help the NHS amid the coronavirus pandemic has hit more than double the original goal set by the government. In just over 24 hours, around 560,000 people offered to donate their time to help the millions of people in the UK isolating for 12 weeks in an attempt to slow the spread of Covid-19.
When you get to read stories like this, about our country coming together and uniting, it makes those still needing to go to work feel like it is a worthwhile task.
With the opening of NHS Nightingale at ExCel London next week, everyone at Craig & Derricott is privileged that we have been able to play our part and help support all involved in this project.
Craig & Derricott are pleased to be supplying on a next day basis a quantity of specialised industrial 1000A switch-disconnectors in sheet steel enclosures for this temporary hospital, based at ExCeL London. The hospital will initially provide up to 500 beds equipped with ventilators and oxygen. The capacity will then continue to increase, potentially up to several thousand beds, should it be required.
