Photovoltaic (PV) Enclosed Switchgear

A range of PV enclosed safety switchgear designed specifically to disconnect the DC electricity from the solar PV system.

Solar power is an environmentally friendly method of producing electricity and is achieved using Photovoltaic (PV) cells that capture sunlight and convert it to electricity. By combining cells into an array, different voltages and current combinations can be achieved.

Once the PV Enclosed Switchgear is installed an array will continue to generate voltage and current and it is therefore essential to isolate the array in the event of a fault or for maintenance purposes. To enable this Craig & Derricott have developed a range of DC switch-disconnectors to manage this specific application.

This range of isolator switches is highly versatile and covers operating currents of up to 40A and up to 1,500 V DC as standard. They are supplied in moulded plastic IP65 enclosures in a light grey (RAL 7035) finish. All units have a padlockable handle which allows for the insertion of up to three padlocks in the ‘Off’ position thus preventing the isolator from being switched to the ‘On’ position. All units are interlocked in the ON position preventing the lid from being removed.

We also offer PV isolators with MC4 cable glands pre-fitted to allow for hassle-free integration into different system designs. Contact our sales team for more information.

Compliant to IEC / BS EN 60947-3.
