ION Charge (Electric Vehicle Charger) - Warranty Statement

Warranty Cover
Your EV charger warranty is covered for parts and labour when purchased and installed in domestic properties by a NICEIC / SELECT approved electrical contractor in mainland UK and Republic of Ireland.

The standard warranty period is 12 months from the proof of ownership date. (This can be in the form of either a receipt from the installer or a document to prove home ownership.) It is the responsibility of the homeowner to register the EV Charger with Craig & Derricott, once completed the warranty is extended to 36 months.

This registration must be completed within 30 days from proof of ownership online here.

If the EV charger has been installed by a non-approved installer, then only 12 months warranty will apply, the product must be returned to the place of purchase if a fault occurs.

Not Covered By Warranty
If the EV Charger fault is directly or indirectly caused by:

  • Incorrect installation performed by your installer.
  • Damage caused by connecting to an incorrectly rated electricity supply.
  • Parts or faults associated with your existing installation, including, but not limited to consumer units, circuit breakers or cables.
  • Relocation of the Product after its first installation.
  • Accidental or malicious damage, theft or vandalism.
  • Use of parts and accessories that are not ION Charge genuine approved parts.
  • Failures caused by circumstances outside of our control, external sources (including, but not limited to, floods, storms, earthquakes and fires), electrical outages or power surges.
  • Negligent or inappropriate use, misuse, neglect or careless operation. if it has been used or maintained in a manner not conforming to EV Charger manual instructions, used for anything other than charging an electric vehicle, has been modified in any way, or has had any serial number or other identification markings removed or defaced.
  • Damage caused by not carrying out any recommended maintenance.

How To Claim
If the EV charger develops a fault, you must first report this to your installer, if the installer confirms the fault then the faulty unit must be returned to the place of purchase and reported to the C&D Technical Team where a returns reference number will be allocated (this number will be required when returning the unit to the place of purchase).

Please have available the following:

  • EV Charger Model number (on the label underneath the main cover)
  • UUID number (on the label underneath the main cover)
  • Proof of ownership date
  • Contact details of the installer when reporting

At the discretion of C&D, the installer’s call out charge will be covered for both removal of the faulty EV charger and refitting of the new charger, the reimbursement call-out charge instructions will be emailed to the installer.

Is The Warranty Transferable
The warranty can usually be transferred to a new owner/resident of the property should you sell your house or move and choose to leave your ION EV charger product behind. There is an administration charge to cover updating the records, please contact our Customer Service Team to arrange this.

Limitation of Liability
In no event will Craig & Derricott accept any liability for any loss, costs or consequential damage due to the use and/or misuse of our hardware or software products except where this is caused by our negligence.
