To celebrate “share a story” month in May, we asked our customers to share their experiences of working with Craig & Derricott. We received many interesting stories but one of our favourites was received from one of our longstanding customers, Sentor Electrical Services Ltd.
Water’s Edge, a new residential community in Abu Dhabi, has been developed by ALDAR Properties and located in the heart of the prestigious Yas Island, close to world class facilities like Yas Marina Circuit, Ferrari World, Yas Water World, and Yas Mall.
Sentor Electrical were asked to supply fire rated isolators on this project, however, during the submittal process it was found that the customer required 400A isolators to be terminated using 240mm SWA which was not recommended by our engineering team.
Initially the only solution for Sentor’s customer was to use the 630A version, but being more expensive than the 400A version, it would cause a financial loss to their customer.
Our engineering team understood this dilemma for Sentor’s customer and came up with a solution.
We arranged and sourced a special contained lug that was fitted in the isolators along with additional shrouds. This solution was very cost effective and easily fulfilled the consultant and the site requirements.
We were able to successfully deliver bespoke isolators within budget and time frame & both Sentor and the customer were very happy. A massive shout out to our Engineering team!
